Dear all
Hope things are going OK for you all and you are keeping safe and well.
I have been sent or found some links which I thought might amuse or interest people and so am sharing them with you.
Sadly the one Rosalind sent me is no longer available but here is a parody of "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAfqCq3JIWg
If you prefer, here is a take on A B Paterson by the Australian comedian Sammy J: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia0bfWbOLjY
For something slightly disgusting, but very British take on coronavirus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeSnfWzNe-Y
Of course we all need to exercise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eATxrkw7eeI
There are a couple of other things worth looking at.
If you have access to the ABC iview watch the Australian Story episode from 30 March called "One day at a time". It looks at 5 different people but the last bit looking at the choir leader is particularly good. She was the person who started the pub choir movement. She couldn't do it anymore so set up the Couch Choir. It can also be watched here: https://iview.abc.net.au/show/australian-story/series/2020/video/NC2002Q008S00
If you can't get on to iview then check out this link to the Couch Choir's song "They want to be close to you": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HezxInuN1YA
I will also send a video clip that Maureen sent us separately, its too big to send with this. For those of us who remember Tom Jones, its hilarious. For everyone else its probably a bit weird.
Finally I liked this American youtube clip, its part of a series called "Tunes for fighting the gloom". This one I particularly liked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiJhfyduyS0
I have more and would love to get more from you, particularly any that include our members. I will send them over the next few weeks.
We are still sorting out how we can go forward and I will let you know what is happening as soon as I can.
Take care everyone, keep safe, keep sane and keep sanitising.
Cheers - Amanda
